Advantages of Bearing Grease for the Food, Pharmaceutical, and Feed Industries

It contributes greatly to production to support food safety especially at points where the risk of food contact is high. Performance grease with H1 approval is extra resistant to water and hot water.

The product, which contains special EP additives, is preferred as a general lubricating grease in many applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries. It is a product that can be easily used in all central lubrication systems (such as packaging and bottling processes).

WHAT IS H1 HIGH PERFORMANCE GREASE?
The NSF H1 approval allows the high performance grease to be used in the food and pharmaceutical industry as in it is not a threat to human health. They are applied as a release agent on seals of tank covers, as a protective anti-corrosion film on food processing equipment. It can also be used as a lubricant for machine parts and equipment where the lubricated part is potentially exposed to food.

The amount used should be the smallest amount necessary to achieve the desired technical effect on the equipment. If used as an anti-rust film, it should be removed from the equipment surface. The materials to be used in H1 performance grease are called HX-1.

Food grade greases are used in a variety of food processing equipment and other industrial equipment applications. These include plain and rolling bearings, linkages and slides, central lubrication systems and enclosed gearboxes.

Food, Pharmaceutical, and Feed Industry Bearing Grease Frequently Asked Questions

High Performance Greases are designed for specific industrial requirements. They contain additives that can withstand high mechanical loads and therefore guarantee a longer service life of the machines and systems used. During the design and production of our high-performance greases, the focus is on the requirements that the products must subsequently meet. The result is products that are superior not only with their superior, strong adhesion properties, but also with their excellent water and pressure resistance and high temperature stability. High performance grease Plexon H1-461 is a multi-purpose heavy duty grease. Its ability to resist pressure is very good. It provides lubrication even in case of lack of oil through the solid lubrication film formed on the surfaces under heavy load and prolongs the additional lubrication period. Plexon H1-461 is generally used in all kinds of ball, sliding bearings, guides, joints and splined shafts, and in open lubrication points exposed to low speed and impact pressures. As a result, you can easily choose it in high pressure and speed environments.

High performance grease Plexon H1-461 is a premium quality mineral oil based grease using modern thickeners. Suitable for electric motors and similar applications. Application areas can be listed as follows. Electric motors: Small, medium and large Industrial fans including high speed fans water pumps Bearings used in textile, paper processing and drying machines Medium and high speed ball (and roller) bearing applications operating at medium and high temperatures Clutch release bearings Vertical shaft applications Kiln trucks and rollers

Choosing grease is one of the most important decisions you make for your equipment. Your choice can make the difference between cost savings, reduced downtime or equipment failure. There are several factors to consider when choosing the right one, but the main things to consider are the components of the grease itself: type of thickener, type of base oil, and base oil viscosity. The grease’s thickener does the important job of holding the lubricant in place. This is essentially what makes grease more like grease than oil. A grease thickener affects the operating temperature, load, speed and material compatibility of your grease. A good type of thickener will meet two criteria: It will comply with the equipment manufacturer’s recommendations and be suitable for the conditions in which it will perform. Thickeners can be many types of chemical compounds, but most are incompatible and should not be mixed. The most common thickeners are lithium, lithium complex, aluminum complex and polyurea. As you can see, there are many types and brands of grease for many different applications, environments, and machines. Therefore, your grease must be suitable for the type and operating conditions of your machine.

Base oils make up 80 – 95% of your typical grease and are generally synthetic or mineral oil. To determine the best type of base oil, the conditions under which the grease will perform, such as temperature, load and pressure, must be considered. In most applications, mineral oils provide the lubrication needed when combined with an appropriate thickener and additives. While paraffinic base oils are more commonly used in greases over naphthenic (low paraffin content), some applications use a mixture of the two, providing various benefits such as low-temperature flow. For more demanding conditions, synthetic base oils such as polyalphaolefin (PAO) base oils are often suitable due to their wide temperature range in both hot and cold applications.
